Ductile iron grates are the heavy-duty end of the ACO KlassikDrain K100 grate range. Cast from ductile iron to ASTM A536-84 Grade 65-45-12 and load rated per EN 1433, the family runs from Class C commercial duty (56,202 lbs) up to Class E industrial duty (134,885 lbs) — the highest rating offered in the 100 series and suited to industrial areas, gas stations, and light commercial forklift traffic.

The family spans practical slotted and longitudinal patterns as well as the decorative Wave and Mosaic designs, so demanding load requirements never have to come at the expense of appearance. Every grate fits ACO Drain K100 galvanized-rail, KS100 stainless-rail, and H100K-8 channels and secures with ACO's boltless DrainLok or QuickLok locking systems; once the grates (and QuickLok bar, where used) are removed, there is uninterrupted access to the trench for cleaning and maintenance.

The Type 461Q (ACO part number 96752) is the 0.5 meter slotted grate at the industrial-duty end of the family, rated to EN 1433 Load Class E at 134,885 lbs (1,856-2,785 psi) — the highest load rating in the range. Its slotted pattern, with openings up to 3.95" (100.2 mm), delivers 34.88 square inches (225 sq cm) of intake area per half meter of grate — the highest of the Class E grates — and the grate carries Bicycle Safe, Anti-Slip, and LEED credentials. The "Q" in Type 461Q stands for ACO's patented QuickLok boltless locking: the grate stud push-fits into the stainless steel spring clip of a QuickLok locking bar, sold separately — bar 02899 for K100/KS100 channels, 98717 for Series 900 catch basins. At 10.2 lbs, the grate unlocks and lifts out whenever the trench needs to be inspected or cleaned.
