Ductile iron grates are the heavy-duty end of the ACO KlassikDrain K100 grate range. Cast from ductile iron to ASTM A536-84 Grade 65-45-12 and load rated per EN 1433, the family runs from Class C commercial duty (56,202 lbs) up to Class E industrial duty (134,885 lbs) — the highest rating offered in the 100 series and suited to industrial areas, gas stations, and light commercial forklift traffic.

The family spans practical slotted and longitudinal patterns as well as the decorative Wave and Mosaic designs, so demanding load requirements never have to come at the expense of appearance. Every grate fits ACO Drain K100 galvanized-rail, KS100 stainless-rail, and H100K-8 channels and secures with ACO's boltless DrainLok or QuickLok locking systems; once the grates (and QuickLok bar, where used) are removed, there is uninterrupted access to the trench for cleaning and maintenance.

The Type 480D (ACO part number 99578) is the decorative Wave grate of the family, cast in ductile iron to ASTM A536-84 Grade 65-45-12 in a 19.69" (500 mm) half-meter length and rated to EN 1433 Load Class C at 56,202 lbs (774-1,160 PSI) for commercial-duty K100, KS100, and H100K-8 runs. Its flowing Wave-pattern slots measure 0.27" x 2.4" (7 x 61 mm) and deliver 27.0 square inches (174.19 sq cm) of intake area per half meter of grate, and the grate carries ADA-Compliant, Bicycle Safe, Heel-Resistant, Anti-Slip (BPN > 24), and LEED credentials — decorative styling that gives up nothing in pedestrian-safe compliance. The factory-fitted DrainLok locking device clips into the channel edge rail, and its anti-shunt mechanism restricts unwanted grate movement — boltless, barless, and with no locking bar to purchase. At 8.0 lbs, the grate unlocks and lifts out easily whenever the trench needs to be inspected or cleaned.
