Ductile iron grates are the heavy-duty end of the ACO KlassikDrain K100 grate range. Cast from ductile iron to ASTM A536-84 Grade 65-45-12 and load rated per EN 1433, the family runs from Class C commercial duty (56,202 lbs) up to Class E industrial duty (134,885 lbs) — the highest rating offered in the 100 series and suited to industrial areas, gas stations, and light commercial forklift traffic.

The family spans practical slotted and longitudinal patterns as well as the decorative Wave and Mosaic designs, so demanding load requirements never have to come at the expense of appearance. Every grate fits ACO Drain K100 galvanized-rail, KS100 stainless-rail, and H100K-8 channels and secures with ACO's boltless DrainLok or QuickLok locking systems; once the grates (and QuickLok bar, where used) are removed, there is uninterrupted access to the trench for cleaning and maintenance.

The Type 476D (ACO part number 142171) is the ADA-compliant longitudinal pattern of the ductile iron family in a 0.5 meter (19.69") length. Cast in ductile iron to ASTM A536-84 Grade 65-45-12 with ACO's Iron Intercept Heelsafe Anti-Slip surface design, its longitudinal slots of 2.10" x 0.24" (54 x 6 mm) provide an intake area of 22.6 sq in (145.2 sq cm) per half meter of grate while keeping openings small enough to be heel-resistant (no larger than 0.25" / 6.5 mm). It is ADA Compliant, Bicycle Safe, and Anti-Slip rated (BPN > 24), supports LEED credits, weighs 7.0 lbs, and carries an EN 1433 Load Class C rating of 56,202 lbs. The factory-fitted DrainLok boltless, barless locking device clips into the channel edge rail, and its anti-shunt mechanism restricts unwanted grate movement — no locking bar is needed.
